What to Bring

  • Sewing Machine - Cord and foot pedal, needles, bobbins, thread, etc.  Machine available to rent.

  • Current projects - ideas for next project.

  • Cutting rulers, mats, scissors, rotary cutters (if you want your own mat at your table you will need to bring it. LABEL ALL YOUR EQUIPMENT PLEASE!

  • Comfortable clothes, pajamas and shoes.

  • Toiletries and medications.

  • A special pillow if it helps you be comfortable.

  • Show and tell item (optional).

  • A great smile and attitude to match!

  • Coffee is provided. If you "Keurig", please bring your own pods for the Keurig machine.

  • WIFI inside the building working pending weather.  It is satellite fed.

  • All personal musical devices need ear buds - not to disturb others.

  • All calls in the US are local calls are 50 cents each. Some can get cell service outside. I ask that ALL cell phones be turned to silent or vibrate in the building to maintain a relaxing weekend for all. Let your family know ahead of time.

It may be quilting, needlework, painting, scrap booking, or stamping. Whatever the creative outlet you choose, you will enjoy uninterrupted time for you and your friends.  


Homestead Retreat was established in February of 2005 and has been host to many creative folks along the way. The relaxing setting out in the woods lends itself to a very calming cabin atmosphere. It's a great place to escape from the city for just a weekend and rejuvenate your creative soul. Get inspired by fellow guests.


We can accommodate up to 17 guests and cater to many small groups on the same weekend. You can come alone, or with a few friends, or book the whole place. Please join us for an experience you and your friends will not soon forget.


Meals...  

are "on your own" or participate in organized potlucks or visit the local restaurants and cafes.  The kitchen is fully stocked with all the appliances, dishes, cookware and spices.  If you like to grill, there is one available for use.
